Fried ice cream
The phrase "fried ice cream" seemsabsurd: how can you fry a cold dessert, which even at room temperature quickly begins to melt? In fact, there is a way. The country of the Soviets will tell you how to cook fried ice cream.

The secret of this dish is quite simple: ice cream is very much frozen, and then fried in a special breading deep-fried. Toast, in fact, only breading, and ice cream does not have time to melt away. It turns out a crisp hot ball with melted cold ice cream inside. Fried ice cream is very tasty, but, alas, not too useful for teeth.



To prepare fried ice cream, we will need:



  • frozen ice cream - 900 g

  • vegetable oil for frying - 350 ml

  • corn flakes - 120 g

  • coconut shavings - 70 g

  • eggs - 2 pcs.

  • milk - 1 tbsp. l.

  • cinnamon - 1 tsp.

  • honey, syrup or jam for topping


From ice cream, do the portioned balls witha round spoon or just cut it into medium-sized cubes. We shift portions of ice cream to a tray lined with waxed paper, and put it in the freezer for at least an hour, so that the ice cream should be frozen properly.



Corn flakes are crushed in a food processor(or grandfather's method, with a mortar and pestle), add coconut shavings and cinnamon, mix until homogeneous. We shift the mixture, which will perform the role of breading, in a shallow bowl. Whisk eggs with milk in a separate plate for about a minute.



We get ice cream from the freezer. We drop the ball in breading, then dipped in the egg-milk mixture and again roll in breadcrumbs. A little run around in the palms, so that the breading is better kept, and put it on a plate. We put the balls in breading in the freezer for at least three hours, or better at night, so that the ice cream is frozen almost "into stone."



Oil is poured into a small saucepan or deepfrying pan and heat on medium heat to a temperature of about 200 degrees. It is easy to determine using a kitchen thermometer, but if you do not have it, do not despair. Throw in a couple of cornflakes. If the temperature is sufficient to make ice cream, their edges should turn brown for 20 seconds.



We take the balls from the ice cream in breadcrumbs fromfreezers one by one so that they do not have time to begin to melt, and put in hot oil. Fry 10-15 seconds, turn over and cook for another 10-15 seconds. Ready fried ice cream gently remove from the oil and put on a paper towel, which will absorb excess fat.



Before serving, pour fried ice cream with any topping to your liking, you can also sprinkle dessert with nuts (sesame, cookie crumbs) or serve it with fruit. Serve hot ice cream it is necessary at once, until it has not managed to melt away.



Fried ice cream: nuances of cooking



In principle, you can take any dairy ice cream for the preparation of this dessert, but the usual filling without fillers and additives fits best.



If desired, in the middle of each ball of ice cream, you can put pre-steamed raisins or any berries to your taste.



there is another variant of breading for roasted ice cream. Instead of flakes, pieces of ice cream are crumbled in starch, then in slightly whipped egg whites, then in coconut shavings.



AND another variant of breading: at first ice cream is dipped in a flour-and-water dessert, then into a crushed cookie, then again into a dessert and finally into crushed nuts.
