Emotional Burnout
Emotions are our life. We can rejoice, be angry, resent, be sad, hate. But gradually emotions literally leave us, in the end there is only emptiness. Is it a crisis or just fatigue? No, it's emotional burnout.
Perhaps you have already heard about professional burnout. This term has recently been constantly heard, since many people do not find themselves in life and can not be realized at work. Ask, what does professional burnout have to do with emotional burnout? The most direct, because in fact it's all the same.
In humans, the syndrome of emotional burnout is very common. And such unhappy people are in fact much more than you think. You can even say that the whole society is subject to emotional burnout. Day after day, we do not get emotions, but moregive them away, life becomes gray and boring, and the surrounding people begin to perceive "according to the pattern" - all people are the same, nothing new can come from them, etc. Often in relation to others, one can feel aggression or complete indifference.
Naturally, there are people who are at risk of emotional burnout. Basically, these are those whose profession obliges to communicate with other people. It can be the manager on work with clients, doctors, teachers, social workers, psychologists. But do not think that the representatives of otherprofessions are not subject to emotional burnout. This applies to all people who do not like their work or it just does not bring positive emotions.
As a result, it turns out that the person becomes all the same. In the place of pity for man comes the absenceunderstanding. Also, the attitude is changing not only to patients or clients, but also to employees, the family, when the flow of aggression is pouring out on innocent people. And where did that friendly person whom everyone knew?
Emotional burnout does not come immediately. This is a gradual process that can be broken down into 4 stages. At the first stage, a person is always satisfied with hiswork, but over time interest in it begins to fade. At the second stage, there is already apathy and constant fatigue. Work is of less and less interest, so delays begin. At the third stage, the entire process is already in a chronic form. A man does his work out of habit, but it does not bring any pleasure. Strongly changing the character, with not the best, there are also bad habits. Irritability and sense of cornering also make themselves felt. The last stage is a crisis when a person develops psychosomatic diseases, such as an ulcer, asthma, dermatitis, hypertension.
Prevention of emotional burnout
Emotional burnout is an unpleasant thing, but not all are affected. The secret here is that a person constantly needs positive emotions. Even if you do not like your job, but inpersonal life or when communicating with friends you are happy, then emotional burnout does not threaten you. If you do not have such positive emotions, you just need to try to avoid emotional burnout.
The best way to avoid emotional burnout is change jobs. But here you have to be careful. Analyze a new job, pay attention to the staff turnover. If people do not stay long in one place, this also does not say anything good.
If the work you can not or do not want to change, then try to somehow change the situation. For example, you can get additional education. The longer the courses last, the better for you. The minimum term of the course should be 6 months.
Sometimes it happens that communication with people overloads you. When you feel emotional overload, try to retire for at least half an hour. Think in silence, deal with your own thoughts. You can also take a walk if you can.
AND Do not forget about self-expression. All people of creative professions are very rareare subject to emotional burnout. Sign up for dance courses, play chess or paint in your spare time. Your emotions must necessarily have an outlet. Share your impressions with friends or family. If you are not supported by family and friends, then create your own circle of interests in which you can share your own experiences with people who understand you. And it can be the same people who are also threatened by emotional burnout, but they should work in other companies.
Every time you get tired of everything, surround yourself with blue and white flowers and try to spend the day in silence. On such days the body itself will beTo recover from emotional overloads, as mechanisms of self-regulation will be included. Try to make such "unloading days" more often, otherwise you can not avoid health problems.
