How to cook a compote of strawberries for the winter - a recipe with a photo
How to keep the taste of summer for a long time? The answer is simple - in advance take care of the blanks for the winter from ripe strawberries. If you follow the recipes exactly, the strawberry will retain its rich, sweet taste and aroma even if preserved. It is best for this purpose is suitable compote of strawberries - berries in the classic compote recipe are minimally subjected to temperature treatment and, therefore, retain the taste.
For the preparation of compote of strawberries for the winter we will need the following ingredients:
- Clean boiled water - 2, 5 liters
- Sugar - 250 ml (one glass)
- Strawberries - 600-800 grams
Attention: the ingredients are given based on one three-liter jar of compote. If you plan to prepare more compote of strawberries for the winter, change the proportions in the recipe accordingly.
How to cook compote from strawberries - step by step recipe
Before you start to actually cookcompote, prepare the cans for its storage. Glass jars should be thoroughly washed and sterilized in a water bath or in an oven. Do not forget to touch and rinse strawberry berries under a stream of cool water.
Now you can start preparing blanksfor the winter. Strawberries are placed on the bottom of the jars so that they occupy about a fifth of the can. The more berries, the more saturated will the taste of compote, so the amount can be varied at will.
Fill strawberries in jars with boiling water and leaveinfuse for ten to fifteen minutes, then drain the water into a pre-prepared saucepan. For this procedure it is more convenient to use special polyethylene caps with holes, but in extreme cases even gauze will do.
Strawberry juice in a saucepan mixed with a glasssugar and bring to a boil, and then poured back into jars for conservation. Banks are wiped, we put elastic bands, close lids and carefully roll up - do not forget to tightly roll the compote of strawberries so that it is stored all winter and does not deteriorate. After roll-up, the cans are turned upside down and let stand for one to two hours. That's all - compote for the winter from the strawberry is ready, now you can clean the banks in a cool dark place for storage.
