  • Strawberry - 700 gr.

  • sugar - 500 gr.

  • water - 200 ml

  • citric acid - 1/2 tsp.

On a note! Instead of strawberries in this recipe you can useand other berries: raspberries, cherries, black or red currants. But keep in mind that the proportions of sugar must be calculated, based on how acidic the selected fruits will be.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Let's start with the preparation of berries: mulberries and strawberries and we sort out, removing the leaves.

Attention! Many believe that for jam anyberries, so they use even crushed and overripe fruits. This statement is true only if you plan to make a very sweet jam with equal proportions of berries and sugar. The current conservation system involves reducing the share of sugar, and the requirements for raw materials are increasing. Therefore, we recommend choosing only ripe and undamaged berries for jam.

  2. Whisk the pure berries with a blender at maximum speed. Consistency will be watery and will resemble berry juice. Add water.

On a note! You can not add water, but then you have totime to stand near a boiling pot with a spoon ready. The fact is that the jam has a tendency to stick, and it needs constant stirring. The presence of water is a great way to avoid burning.

  3. Add sugar and citric acid. Sugar is well stirred, so that most of it is dissolved. And only after this, put the pan on the fire.

  4. We bring jam from mulberry with strawberries to a boil and reduce the fire. Boil the mixture for 30-40 minutes.

On a note! Increasing the cooking time leads to an increase in the density of jam. Therefore, if you like thick jam, then you can safely cook it longer than the specified time.

  5. We pour out the finished jam in sterilized jars. Cooled blanks are stored in a cool room.
