Christmas Kutya

Christmas Kutia is a porridge of wheat, rice, barley or other cereals. It adds honey, sugar, raisins, poppy seeds, nuts, jam ... the choice of "additives" is great! In a separate sauceboat, kougette is usually served with lean poppy, almond or nut milk. We offer the housewives a few recipes for this Christmas kutya.

Wheat Kut

In order to make a wheat stew, we need to take:

  • 300 g of wheat flour

  • 200 g of honey

  • 1 liter of milk

  • 0.5 L of cream

  • 1 tbsp. water

Mix the milk with water in a saucepan, put it on the fire and bring it to a boil. When the contents of the saucepan boil, pour the rump and cook it until cooked. Groats should be soft, but not boiled.

When the croup is cooked, add cream and honey to the porridge. Thoroughly mix and tightly cover the pan with a lid. To porridge quickly "reached", wrap it in a blanket and put it in a warm place.

Kutja from rice with raisins and almonds

To prepare such a kutya we will take:

  • 1 tbsp. rice

  • 100 g of almonds

  • 100 g raisins (kishmish)

  • sugar to taste

Rinsing and rinsing rice, pour it with water, put the pan with rice on the fire and bring to a boil. When the rice boils, remove it from heat and rinse under cold running water. Rinse the rice again in a saucepan, pour a large amount of water and cook until done. Finished rice is thrown on a sieve and cooled.

As the rice cools, scald the almond kernels, cleanse the husks and finely chop. Then we shift the almonds into the dishes, in which we will serve kutya, and shove it. In the crushed almond add sugar, lightly dilute it with water, stir and combine with rice.

Raisins without pits are washed and scalded. We add it in kutju, we mix it and sprinkle with the sugar prepared with kutja. We serve rice kutya to the table with lean milk.

Wheaten with poppy seeds

To cook kutya from wheat with poppy seeds, we take:

  • 2 tbsp. wheat

  • 1 tbsp. poppy

  • 100 g of honey or 0.5 tbsp. Sahara

  • salt to taste

We sorted and washed the wheat. In the saucepan boil the water, pour the wheat into boiling water and again bring to a boil. Then throw the wheat on a sieve and pour cold water. Cooled and washed wheat again put in a pan, pour water and bring to a boil. As soon as the porridge boils, tightly cover the pan with covers and put in the oven until cooked.

In the meantime, a glass of poppies is washed and crochetedalternately boiling water and cold water. Toss the poppy in a mortar until it turns white, add honey (or sugar), salt and mix it. Mix the poppy seeds thoroughly with the wheat porridge. If the kutya turns out to be too thick, we add a wheat broth to it.

Bon appetit and merry Christmas!
