Apple jam with berriesIf you have already mastered the recipe for classic apple jam, and you want to try something new, you can cook apple jam with berries - cherries, blackberries, cranberries or even black chokeberry. This jam pleasantly diversifies your table.



Apple jam with cowberry



To prepare apple jam with cowberry you will need:



  • cranberries - 1 kg

  • apples - 1 kg

  • sugar - 1 kg


Go and wash the cranberries. Then pour the sugar into a saucepan, add 2 tablespoons to it. water and cook sugar syrup. Do not let it cool down, pour hot cowberry syrup. Wash the apples, peel them from seeds and peel and slice them. Add apple slices to the cowberry and mix. Put the jam on a slow fire, bring to a boil and cool. This procedure must be repeated three times. When the jam is ready, pour it into sterilized jars, allow it to cool completely and cover the jars with plastic covers.



Apple jam with blackberries



To cook apple jam with blackberries, take:



  • sugar - 1,5 kg

  • sour apples - 1 kg

  • blackberry - 1 kg

  • blackberry liqueur - 6 tablespoons.

  • Butter - 20 g

  • cardamom - 0.5 tsp

  • juice of one lemon



Warm up the sugar in the oven. Apples peel and seed, cut into slices, put into a saucepan and pour 300 ml of water. Bring the apples to a boil and cook for about 10 minutes until the apples become soft. Then put in the future jam of blackberries and pour in lemon juice. Bring to a boil again. To boil it is necessary about 15 minutes - berries should start to be boiled. Then add the preheated sugar in the oven and stir the jam until the sugar dissolves. After that, you need to add the fire and boil the jam for 10 minutes. Then pour into the jam of liquor from the blackberry, pour the cardamom and remove the pan from the fire.



Then make a test for the degree of readinessjam (as it is done, you can read in the article "How to cook apple jam correctly?"). If the jam is not ready yet, cook it for another 3 minutes. After that, the pan should be removed from the heat, add the butter and mix. Remove the foam from the prepared jam and allow it to cool slightly.



Ready apple jam with blackberries poured overpre-sterilized banks. In each jar put a round piece of waxed paper - directly on top of the jam. Banks should be closed with lids and stored in a cool place.



Apple jam with chokeberry



To make apple jam with chokeberry, you need these ingredients:



  • apples - 300 g
  • </ li>
  • chokeberry - 1 kg

  • sugar - 1,5 kg

  • citric acid - 7 g

  • cinnamon, vanilla - to taste


Dip berries of black mountain ash in boiling waterfor 3-5 minutes, and then cool them in a cold. When the water drains, transfer the berries into the cooking basin. Cook the syrup from 0.5 kg of sugar and 2 cups of water, pour it on the black chokeberry. Bring the berries with syrup to a boil, boil for 3-4 minutes, and then set aside for 8-10 hours. Then again bring to a boil and add the remaining sugar.



Peel the apples from the peel and seeds, cut themon the lobules and dip for 8-10 minutes in boiling water. Take care that the apples are not boiled! Put the apples in the jam for 15-20 minutes before the end of cooking black chokeberry and cook until ready. Shake the bowl in a circular motion to evenly mix the apples. Vanilla, cinnamon and citric acid are added to the jam before being removed from the fire.



Apple jam with cherries and almonds



For cooking apple jam with cherries and almonds you need:



  • apples - 0,5 kg

  • cherries - 0,5 kg

  • sugar - 1 kg

  • lemons - 2 pcs.

  • almonds - 50 g


Wash and dry cherries. Remove the cherries from the cherry, sprinkle it with sugar, cover and set aside for a day. Peel the apples, grate them and add them to the cherry, squeezing out the juice from two lemons. Bring the jam to a boil and cook for 4 minutes at maximum heat. Fry the almonds in a frying pan without using fat, and add it to the jam. Put the jam in sterilized jars and cover them with lids. Apple jam with cherries and almonds is ready.
