Chicken with orangesPerhaps, the first place in popularity amongHot dishes on the New Year's table are filled with chicken. Chicken meat can be prepared in hundreds of different ways, giving it new tints of taste. One of the best combinations is chicken with oranges.





Chicken with oranges: 1 version


One of the simplest recipes of chicken with oranges is chicken thighs baked in a spicy orange-honey marinade. Real jam! To prepare this dish we reserve the following ingredients:



  • 6 chicken thighs

  • 4 medium oranges

  • 100 g of honey

  • 50 g of olive oil

  • 4 cloves of garlic

  • 1 tbsp. l. ground coriander

  • 1 tbsp. l. turmeric

  • 1 tsp. salt

  • hot peppers - optional

  • butter for mold lubrication

With three oranges, we remove the zest and in the sameThe container, where the zest is located, squeezes out the juice. If honey is not liquid, melt it (it is very important not to bring honey to a boil). Garlic is cleaned and let through the press.


Add to the orange juice with zedra honey,olive oil, garlic, turmeric, coriander and salt. If you like spicy dishes, you can add a little finely chopped hot pepper, but this ingredient is optional.


Thoroughly mix everything, pour marinade chicken thighs and clean in the refrigerator for at least an hour (but it is better to leave the chicken for several hours or even overnight).


Form for baking grease with butter,lay out in it pieces of chicken. Pour into the form of the marinade, so that its level reaches about the middle of the chicken pieces. Pre-marinade can be filtered. The last orange is mine, cut into circles 1 cm thick and put each piece of chicken on a circle of orange.


Preheat the oven to 180-220 degrees(the temperature depends on the particular oven) and bake the chicken until ready, from time to time pouring the marinade. We pour the prepared chicken into a dish, pour the marinade and serve it to the table.


Chicken with oranges: 2 version


If you prefer to serve a chicken baked entirely with a festive table, we can offer you the following recipe for chicken with oranges. To make a baked chicken with orange, let's take:



  • chicken weighing approximately 2 kg

  • large orange - 1 pc.

  • olive oil - 3 tbsp. l.

  • paprika - 2 tbsp. l.

  • finely chopped fresh parsley greens - 1 tbsp. l.

  • garlic - 2-3 cloves

  • salt to taste

Garlic is cleaned and crushed. Cut the orange into halves and squeeze out juice from one of them. Mix olive oil, juice of half an orange, garlic, paprika, parsley and salt. Stir and rub this mixture of chicken carcass from the outside and inside.


The second half of the orange is cut into two partsand put inside the chicken. Spread the chicken in a greased form or on a foil-lined baking sheet with the breast down. We put in the oven, heated to 190 degrees, and bake for 20 minutes, after which we turn and bake until ready (about an hour). Every 15-20 minutes you need to water the chicken with the juice that stands out.


Chicken with oranges: 3 version


In the West, a bird is often served with cranberry sauce. Why not adopt this tradition and not serve a baked with chicken orange with this sweet and sour sauce? Products we need the following:



  • chicken weighing about 1.5 kg

  • cranberries (fresh or frozen) - 200 g

  • butter - 100-150 g

  • medium oranges - 2 pcs.

  • salt, sugar - to taste

For sauce

  • medium orange - 1 pc.

  • cranberries (fresh or frozen) - 1 tbsp.

  • sugar - 1 tbsp.

  • water - 1 tbsp.

Melt butter, add to ita peel of one orange and 200 g of cranberries. Using a wooden pistil, push the cranberry. The resulting marinade rubs the chicken carcass inside and out. The second orange is cut into four parts, filling it with chicken. Having fastened the hole with toothpicks, bake the chicken in the oven until it is ready.


While the chicken is cooking, you can make a sauce. Flesh of orange cut into small cubes. We put an orange and a glass of cranberries in a saucepan, add sugar and water, boil until thick.


From the finished chicken we take oranges, water the bird with cranberry sauce and serve it to the table.
