Lenten cookies - how to cook, lean pastry for biscuits
Fasting is not a reason to refuse delicious baking. Even from a limited set of products you can cook very tasty lean cookies, which may well remain in the ration of your family even after the end of the post.
To prepare a lean dough, it is quite suitablefor baking, do not need milk and eggs banned in the post. True, if the composition of the test includes vegetable oil, you can eat such a lean cookie only on Saturdays and Sundays. In the cookies you can add honey, nuts, dried fruits, zest, sesame ... As you can see, the choice of products for lean cookies is not so small, and baking turns out - you lick your fingers!
Simple lean cookies
This lean cookies taste like sand. For its preparation, we will need the following products:
flour - 3 tbsp.
sugar - 1 tbsp.
starch - 1 tbsp.
vegetable oil - 3/4 tbsp.
boiled water - 3/4 tbsp.
baking powder - 1 tsp.
salt - 1 tsp.
vanilla sugar to taste
We sift the flour, mix it with sugar (usual andvanilla), starch, baking powder and salt. In the center of the mixture, make a small groove and pour into it vegetable oil and boiled water. Gently knead a steep dough.
Dough for biscuits rolled into a thick layer3-4 mm. Cut the dough into squares (you can use a corrugated knife) or cut out cookies with molds. Carefully lay out on a baking sheet, greased with vegetable oil, and bake a quarter of an hour in an oven, heated to 180 degrees.
Lenten cookies with raisins
The beauty of this lean cookie is that butter is not added to the dough, which means that you can eat it not only on weekends. To prepare such a cookie, we'll take:
flour - 4 tbsp.
water - 1-2 tbsp.
raisins - 0.5 tbsp.
sugar - 3 tbsp. l.
baking powder - 1.5 tsp.
Vanilla sugar - 1 tsp.
salt - 0.5 tsp.
We sift the flour and mix it in a bowl with sugar,salt, vanilla sugar and baking powder. Add so much water that we have a dough elastic, but it's not sticky. Raisins wash, pour into the dough and mix well.
The dough is rolled, cut into squares and pierced with a match in several places. We put it on a baking sheet covered with culinary parchment.
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and bake the biscuits until it turns slightly brown. Let it cool down, then turn it over and dry it at a temperature of 100 degrees to hardness.
Oatmeal Lenten Cookies
You can cook lean cookies from oatmeal. For this we need the following products:
2.5 tbsp. instant oat flakes
1 tbsp. apple puree
1/3 tbsp. steamed raisins
1/3 tbsp. Seed, sesame or chopped nuts (can mix)
3 tbsp. l. honey
3 tbsp. l. sunflower oil
Oat flakes slightly dry on dryfrying pan until golden hue. Mix the flakes with apple puree, sunflower oil and honey and set aside the minutes for 20. Then add the seeds, nuts, sesame, etc. Mix and, using a spoon, spread the cookies on a baking sheet lined with culinary parchment. Preheat the oven to 120 degrees and bake the biscuits for about an hour. Before serving, let the liver cool down.
Lenten cookies with apples and carrots
You can make a delicious lean cookie with the addition of fresh carrots and apples. For its preparation we will need:
5 tbsp. l. muesli or oat flakes
5 tbsp. l. bran
2-3 tbsp. l. olive oil
2 tbsp. l. wholemeal wheat flour
2-3 apples
1-2 carrots
any dried fruits and nuts to taste
We rub apples and carrots on a fine grater. Dried fruits and nuts are thoroughly crushed. Mix flour, muesli and bran with carrots, apples, nuts and dried fruits. Add the vegetable oil and a little water, knead the sticky dough. With wet hands, we form biscuits and lay them on a baking sheet covered with parchment. Bake the cookies until golden brown.
